Freelance AV Technician

JOB OVERVIEW
We desire someone with an outgoing personality and industry knowledge. The candidate must have a focus on customer service and excellence as well as an understanding of audio, video and lighting solutions for events. The candidate must be comfortable engaging across a diverse clientele. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills.

DUTIES
- Set up and install audio visual equipment such as projectors, sound systems, microphones, and lighting
- Test and troubleshoot audio visual equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Operate audio visual equipment during events, ensuring optimal sound and visual quality
- Provide technical support to presenters and event organizers
- Assist with the design and implementation of audio visual solutions for different venues and events
- Maintain inventory of audio visual equipment, ensuring all items are properly stored and accounted for
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth execution of events

- One must be punctual, self-directed, self-motivated and accountable to the big picture.

EXPERIENCE
- Prefer previous experience as an Audio Visual Technician or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, computer hardware, electrical principles, and hand tools
- Mechanical knowledge to handle equipment setup and maintenance
- Experience with field service work, including cabling and telecommunication installations
- Familiarity with E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) standards is a plus

- Manage time efficiently and provide detailed reports post-install

- Serve as the client’s job-site point of contact

-Troubleshoot systems including signal flow, software and basic networking issues


REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and work within varied conditions some which may be small or confined

- Must be able to work a varied conditions including heat, cold and rain

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
